A DeKalb County State Court judge denied a motion Monday to drop charges against Houston’s singer husband, Bobby Brown, from a 1996 traffic stop. (November 26 2002)

A few months before the release og the female ensemble drama “Waiting to Exhale” at the end of 1995, it was announced that she and Brown had split up; however, they called off the split just a couple months later, and rumors about their tempestuous relationship filled the tabloids for years to come.

A judge has dismissed a $100 million breach of contract lawsuit filed against her by an entertainment company that her late father had founded. (April 15 2004)

Being able to touch people is what making music is all about. It’s the ultimate goal. Whitney touched so many people, became every woman to so many people, because in her there was something so identifiable.

As an actress


An American magazine reports that Whitney Houston and her hubby are in talks to take on their first big-screen project together — In the film BEFFY AND CHARLIE, they will play musicians who are also gangsters. (June 21 2003)

The Bodyguard was written nearly 25 years ago, by Lawrence Kasdan, but didn’t get made until Kevin Costner decided he wanted to produce and star in the film. Whitney was his first choice for the role of Rachel Marron, but he had to convince her to appear. “I promised her two things: that I would be right there with her, and she would not be bad, because I refuse to let anyone fail around me,” Costner told Hilary De Vries. It was the best thing he could have said, Whitney admitted.
